This poetry book titled Fragments of my Mind is the first in Sikiladi's series titled Observe the Observer.

It is a collection of different moods, subjects and themes; commencing with the chapter Epistles of a Poet the tone of eternal memories sets in, linking the reader to identify with the loss of dear ones. It casually unwinds into the chapter Rhythms of the Soul which relates to the different emotions we experience as we go about our daily routines. We are then surrounded with the chatter of celebration; in the chapter Red Letter Days travel around the world experiencing Diwali, Holi, Christmas, Eid, Valentine's Day amongst many other festivals. We then see the Poet's interpretation of global issues such as feminism, agism and traditionalism in her works within the chapter The Human Equation. We then traverse the Savanna landscapes, the floral gardens and the beautiful skies with the poems in the chapter Voices from the Earth. In Crisis of Humanity we feel the impact of the terror strikes and the medical emergencies that have sadly become too common in our lifetime. This blends into the chapter Peculiar Episodes that invite you to remember those moments where you experience the A-HA moments that stay with you long after they pass. We then gravitate towards a spiritual zone in the chapter Divine Enchantment where we learn to admire those who are able to forgive so quickly and love everyone around them so completely. These admirations continue in the chapter Laudations which are poems written specifically about those personalities that have made deep impressions and/or shaped Sikiladi's view of the world through the manner in which they chose to lead their lives. We end this edition with the chapter Of Death & Life for there is always a new beginning at the end of every ending.

The Fragment's of My Mind is perhaps not the type of literature one can sit through in a single sitting, but it's one that will invite you to come back and read certain phrases that will stay with you even as you continue reading other material. Enjoy this journey into the poet's mind as she gives you so many angles within her observation; this is a collection that is sure to be bookmarked in your library.
